I Crafted My BUTT Off Today!

It was just one of those days. Lillian slept until 8 and took two good sized naps throughout the day. The times she was awake, she was pleasant and adorable, and watched Mommy craft!

So we decided to set up a home gym since Lilly is so new- I knew I wouldn't want to be trying to join a gym again and run out of here all winter to get back in shape. It's almost done! David has painted it and purchased and treadmill AND elliptical machine ALL for $270.00! Thank you, Craig's List! More on the home gym, later.

So I wanted to jazz it up with some things to go on the wall- so I started on two crafts that were Pinterest inspired. One was just some wall art on a canvas and the other is a spruced-up cork board that will be an inspiration board. I find the most inspiration when I look at pictures of MYSELF when I was in shape. Looking at models and celebrities does NOTHING for me.

So I purchased a cork board from Walmart for around 7 bucks. I used an old pillow case that I had laying around to cover it. I lost its match a long time ago, and it was free! Win. I had left over mini-brads that I used to embellish the boarder and some random fake flowers to make it pretty.

So, step one, stretch fabric (or in my case, PILLOW case) over the board and staple it. You know how I get down when I craft: quick and dirty.

Step two, start pushing those brads in! I had an issue puncturing the fabric so I took a regular ball point pin and punctured it first...then it popped right in.

Then, I pinned the flowers on the bottom...DONE! I love the way it turned out.

Which brings me to my second craft. Basically I wanted to use up some paint and letters I had in my crafting things.

Paint and glue on letters.

The gym is almost done! We just need to hang the floating shelf for the DVD player under the TV that David mounted, hang the wall art, and put up the blinds. Then it's time to get sexy. Can't even wait.

#2. LOVE that you use photos of yourself when you liked your body to use as inspiration. Now seriously thinking of creating my own inspiration board like that...
#3. Reality check--you already ARE so sexy! (and, um, hope it's not too weird that I said that) :)
